Hi
When I capture a video in MPEG format I get a lot of static in the background.
I have tried de-multiplexing the Audio/Video, then editing the Audio to remove the hissing, but when I re-multiplex the two together the hissing re-appears.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Yep, I think I know what you mean. I had (have) the same thing but I've found a solution. I always convert with Flask and in that program you can mess with the audio so I increased the volume of the sound. Now I can't hear it anymore (yes, sometimes, but exceptionnel).
AND what's better: while playing the VCD on my standalone, th noise is gone, so it's not such a big problem.

Thanks very much for the help :)
I discovered last knight that the problem was more basic than that though (it might help you as well). It was the built in sound chip on my motherboard!
I have now disabled this and am using a sound blaster live card which works fine.
Why the hiss should re-appear when re-multiplexing I do not know. Perhaps this process used the audio chip to re-multiplex.

How do you disable that? Than I can do this also. I know, it's very strange it only happens when it's multiplexed... (A job for Mulder and Scully :) :) :) )

I turned mine off by going into BIOS and there was an option "Disable on board sound".
Hope this works for you :)
