Hi there,
Does anyone know wich CoDeC pack has it all and is to be trusted?! I've got ACE 4.05, Tsunami 3.8.9 and DivX 5.02 installed, and even still there appear error messages (version and language conflicts) while installing ACE. I can install Nimo, Ogg, Elisoft and PopStudio but I expect even more version and language conflicts.
I want to uninstall all CoDeC packs and install only the one that has it all.
ByTheWay: Windows XP 5.1 build 2600 (already has some codecs installed)

I think you should stick to only one of the codec packs, instead of having a combination of them (Why the heck do you need that many codecs installed?). That aside, the Tsunami and Nimo codec packs have all that I need (Not that I need all the codecs available out there, only a select few).

I know, i know. Well I started out with only one CoDec (pack), but whenever a downloaded movie doesn't play I try the next one.

The Tsunami pack allows you to modify what codecs are installed in your system without having to uninstall it first, via the Control Panel.

Are we talking bout the same Tsunami mini pack? The mini pack i installed only lets you adjust your speaker settings and there is no control panel whatsoever (that i know off)...

Not the mini pack. Get the full installer, which should be sized at around 13-14 MB. The version that I currently have is 3.9.3. There may be a new version out there, but this one works well enough for me. :)

You're welcome. Just try not to install too many codecs, some of which may cause problems with playback and such, when installed together. ;)

You can install the Tsunami pack without uninstalling the whole lot of your pre-existing codecs. Just make sure that you do not select the codecs that you already have on your system. ;)

You needn't have too much codecs that might cause problem .
I think Divx Pro 5.0.2 is very good and you can use Divx player to play the Divx file or PowerDVD. Don't use wmp for lotsa people have problem with i t. I guess it might a bug of wmp.

WMP is not just a program lots of people are having trouble with, it's also a program from Microsoft: it's downloading and installing codecs automaticaly when the encoding type isn't known to WMP. Scary person Bill Gates, scary company MS!!!

You can use your firewall to prevent the WMP from accessing the net. That way, you know that the media players are not doing anything sneaky. ;)
