I am new here, and here's my problem:
I have some .avi and .mpg films that I would like to convert to Divx and write to CD. All the Divx codecs I know start from a DVD file, e.g. .vob.

Is there a solution?

Thx for now

If you have 1) .AVI files that are not yet DivX-compressed and 2) MPEG1 files

Install the DivX v.3.11alpha codec (which also installs the Radium MP3 audio codec) and VirtualDub. Then use VirtualDub to convert your files.

Let us know of your success ;>}

Thanks for the info. I loaded the Codec, but cannot find it in VDub. (in the compression menu.

HI again.
Sorry; being a beginner, I "forgot" to install the codec. All is right now.
But another problem: my source files, made with Videostudio 6, are avi files, but in "dvsd" format, and VDub does not recognise that.
