Divx Avi file wont play.(no combination of filters found)

I downloaded a Avi file off kazaa and it wont play.It saids(No Combination of filters found to render stream)I clik on properties of the movie and video format(Divx)audio(unknown).Is there a program to check what i codec/filter i need?

In order to determine which codec(s) may be required, do the following:

Load the file into VirtualDub. From the "file" dropdown menu, select "File Information".

Post here either a JPG screencapture of the information box, or list here EVERYTHING (video and audio) that appears in the information box.

I tried virtualdub like you mention but file info wasnt hightlighted so i first try to open and it said reconstructing missing index file,what does that mean??

It means you downloaded an incomplete or partially corrupted file...

Well i tried virtualdub and was able to preview the movie,but it wasnt the movie,it was a trailer someone named it triple X.Anyway thanx for your help,Though i'd like to get more info on using vitualdub so i can learn the in/outs of it.
