mpeg want not load to TMPGEnc...Codec wrong???

I need to make DivX from mpeg2.
I have mpeg-2 pal file that are made by MGI VideoWave 3 SE (from my DV Panasonic camera). Players play this file with no problems, but VirtualDub says MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error and TMPGEnc says cannot open or unsupported. File is packed using Ligos MPEG. I have installed such decoder - but no results. Please help.

1) VirtualDub can accept .AVI and MPEG1 foramts for input, but NOT MPEG2 formats

2) Regarding TMPGEnc, have you downloaded and installed the REQUIRED companion VFAPI file?

You are right - for TMPGENc I forget to install VFAPI plugin.
And of course - it was wrong to try load MPEG2 to VirtualDub ;-)))

Any ideas to which program I must use to convert this file to DivX?

Use DVD2AVI to frameserve your MPEG-2 file into VirtualDub.

You can use Flask or similar, or even TMPGEnc to convert the MPEG2 to .AVI...
