Is anyone having the same problem as myself and feenin 1.
between us we have 3 versions of Lord of the Rings which we cannot get to play.
Please reply with ANY info.

Have I missed something here? Is this related to an earlier thread? Can you just remind of your OS and the Summary under Windows file properties, ie which codec is used?

hmm, not been born knowing, well, agreed.
what about lets say the learned ability to read and post necessary information on your specific problem?
and btw: take a look at trancemasters other postings and you should see, he tries his best to be of help.

Hey RichPuke,
My point of that post was not to abuse newbies, in fact after having read my own post several times over, I still cannot understand how you came to the conclusion that I was abusing you. Even if your question was linked to an earlier thread, it still wouldn't have hurt to put some info in, or at least a link to the previous thread. You then go on to bitch about being abused 'cos your a newbie, but still don't post the info! I agree we were all newbies once, myself not very long ago, but I still don't see that as an excuse for not posting info!

What info do i need to post, as Ihave tried many ways to play these files....and was at the end of my tether when you replied.
All I can say is I am sorry if Itook youre reply the wrong way.
Please tell me what info you wanted.
Also has ANYBODY been able to play these files?
Oh by the way I've just been to see The Lord of the Rings at the cinema and it is a fantastic epic of a film......I tell you all to go and see it...........and ask you all 'if you've got these files to play ...please tell me how!!!!!!!

B S Player give me the error : Initialization failure in IRSurface
Then I click on the OK button and I recive another problem.
access violation at address 0164FBA8. read of address FFFFFFFF
The Playa just tells me the location you have selected cannot be opened. No errors.
What is the deal with this avi file?
Any Ideas?

Have any of you folks considered the possibility that you've downloaded dummy files with fake headers? have any of you examined the file with a hex editor, to see what the actual contents of the file are?

Yes I do think that these files were ****ed.
I wish that someone would make some kind of 'directive' to show wich files were legit. and **** fuk the wanka's that piss us about.

I've been having the same problem, also had it with harry potter. I've also looked in an Hex Editor comparing it to another Video File that works, I think something is missing but i don't know what to do to fix it.

hey guys i had the same problem somebody said get the new 8.0 version of media player i did i don't know if it accualy helped but my file's play theres a problem with file 2 of 3 am redown loading
but my other 2 file play o.k. am on morpheus look for onerose and download i'm going to leave them up for another week then i must do my thang!!!! enjoy:bglaugh2: :D

I don't understand why people put files out there that they know don't work. It's not a very nice thing to do.
