I had to rebuild the index in order for it to play.

neither the original or the index rebuild will open in v-dubb. the file is over 700mb and is called "The Straight Story", its a movie by david lynch.

anyhow v-dub says
invalid avi file:chunk at ##### extends outside of parent by -##### bytes"
Is there another way to make v- dub accept this file?

Are there plugins I could get for v-dub that might help?
im using 1.4.7

I feel like my only other option is to make a rar archive just to get it to disc.

What other programs can I try w/?

any suggestions or advice would be appreciated
thanks

"What other programs can I try w/?"

TMPGEnc

By the way, what program (obviously NOT VirtualDub) did you use to reconstruct the index blocks?

For the sake of consistency, I would have initially tried VirtualDub...

I still have the original.
is there another way open it w/ vdub?
Ive tried file----->open video file
which does not work.

v-dubb gives the same responce as quoted above?

thats why I thought there might be a plug-in I could use.

have you tried TMPGEnc, as I suggested earlier?
