cpu usage

Hey.. A friend is having some issues playing back videos. If they are in WMF format or DivX codec it uses 100% CPU usage. He can play files that aren't compressed though (Microsoft DV codec). We have tried viewing them from 3 applications same thing. He has a 800mhz computer with 768mb ram.

I play the same files on my 366mhz computer and run at 30% cpu usage.

Have reinstalled divx codec... other then that any suggestions?

What is he using to play the video?

windows media player, premiere, and he has also tried using a divx player he downloaded from divx.com

Does he have all the right codecs? What are the other specifications of the computer. Does it have on board video? and what divx players exactly is he using?

He is using the newest player found here: http://www.divx.com/divx/player.php

He has tried using the latest windows media player for Windows XP.

He has the latest codec for DivX. (He has the same codecs I have and it works fine on my slower/older computer).

I don't know about video. I will have to look into that...
