I wanted to dub a DVD to video tape using Power DVD 2.55. I have an ASUS V7100 graphics card and it seems as if the card itself has a Macrovision protection. I demacro-ed the vob files (with smartripper, demacrovision, you name it...) - no use. Then I tried to output a Quick Time Movie - connecting the card with a TV set: no Macrovision symptoms, connecting it to a VCR brightness shifts and weird colours.

Anybody know how to handle this problem?
Bert.

"it seems as if the card itself has a Macrovision protection"

Or, more likely perhaps, the VCR...

By the way, I also have a V7100 (Deluxe Combo) and I'm embarrassed to say, I've never been able to figure out how to get any output to my TV or VCR. I've read the docs from cover to cover many times. The cabling seems simple enough, but I just haven't been able to activate the software. I'm in the U.S. and have an older T.V. with only a 75 ohm IN (no audio/video Ins/Outs). I run my cable through my VCR to the T.V. . The VCR DOES have Video/Audio Ins/Outs.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. There are "blackboxes" available on the 'net that will overcome your problem. Just do a Google search for ""VC-3 Video Clarifier"

I have ASUS RIVA TNT V3800 Deluxe Ultra. I can use TV-in without macrovision by ASUS Live 3.xx (3.58?) which is working in Win95, 98 and NT. In Win2000 Asus Live4.0 or higher have macrovision protection.
