.WMV format to .AVI

I've read how to convert .asf to .avi format but need to find some information on converting .wmv files.

Any help?

WMV files are the same as ASF just rename it ;-)
but it will depend on what codec was used for the video

I use ASF Tools to convert them to avi's if they are compressed with MS MPEG4v3 if they are not ASF Tools gives you an option to rencode the file to MS MPEG4v3
