Hi

Recently purchased this card and have found that i can only record in B/W on my vcr... I have been advised that this is macrovision. Having followed several links to get this disabled I am know totally lost - how do i tell which prog to use as they seem to change depending on which chipset you have. How do i find out what chipset I have.

Some MX-400s may use Chrontel 700x chips, in which case, disabling Macrovision is quite hard. You may want to try some of the (outdated) tips found on this page :

Also check whether your cable is plugged in properly, and whether the TV-output's video system (PAL/NTSC/SECAM) matches that of your VCR (there are several variations of NTSC, and if you get it wrong, B/W picture may result).
