Hey there,

did anyone ever see this? What's more - does anyone know what exactly is wrong with my configuration?

http://philvdb.bei.t-online.de/codec.gif

This weird "low color depth" thing only happens with some files, some are crystal clear. It doesn't seem to depend on the video codec, it can or cannot happen with DivX3 files, for example, but it's always recurring on the same files.

Hope any kind soul can let me know what is wrong, thank you in advance for it!

Regards,

Try increasing your desktop colour depth to 32-bit.

/me hangs head in shame...
Thanks for the quick help, it did solve it.
Still evades me why there was no noticeable color lack in about half the avis I've been watching, but as far as I can see, t'is all good now.
Thanks a bunch!

You're welcome.

As far as I'm aware, this issue affects all DivX4 & 5 videos, but not necessarily DivX 3 (None I have encountered so far anyway).
