My videos won't maximize, please help.

Well, my problem is that when I try to maximize the video, it stays at, what im guessing to be, its native resolution.

Are all Xvids like this? or am I just having some weird problems?

I've ran Gspot, and it says I have everything needed to play.
I've tried uninstalling everything Divx, and Xvid related, that includes going in to registry and getting rid of the stuff there, then installing just the Xvid filter, but that produced the same result.

For reference, i'm running WMP 7 on win2000

Any help appreciated.

Since you're playing the movie in WMP im guessing you "double-clicked" on the movie to make it larger? Try right-clicking and selecting the size on the video, and if that doesnt work then try another movie player, like "Tha Playa".

I tried what you recommended..

double clicking didn't seem to work. so I alt-entered, but that was the same result..

I tried The player, im assuming you meant the one that comes with Divx5, but that didn't even load up the movie.

Also tried it with Winamp3.. it worked, but it was a lot more blue that it should be..

Weird thing is, it works fine on my other comp with the same software..

oh well, i guess i'll just watch on that one

No problem;) But there has to be a reason why wmp wont full screen... Try getting the windows media player 9 series, but be sure to do a "system backup" in case you dont like WMP9 so you can go back to the original one you have installed now.

I've had the same thing happen to me on several occassions. I don't think installing WMP9 or reinstalling WMP8 would solve it. I stumbled on a "solution" one time when I played an audio file (i.e. an MP3 music), and set the visualization to display full screen. After I did this several times, it let me change my videos to full screen, also.

Try this and let me know if it fixes the problem.
