Video type

I have some mpeg files that I want to join using TMPGEnc. One of the steps required is to select the video type. How do I find this out. As far as I know it is just an mpeg file. Will it tell me under the properties if it is a vcd type video???? I am a newbie so please excuse the ignorance.

Try the simplest thing first - under TMPGEnc, select "MPEG Tools" from the "Files" dropdown menu. Then select the "Merge & Cut" tab. Don't change the default setting of "MPEG1". Just add the files in the sequence you desire. Enter a save as location and name. Press the "Run" radio button - and see if your efforts result in a good joined MPEG1 file.
