Hi;
I am looking for divX player which has a ability of snap shot( screen shot) , I got a divX player called Light Alloy, it has a feature for snap shot, but this feature does not work, as soon as I press the screen shot it gives me an error, I run this software on Win Xp Pro,
i want to have couple of nice high quality pictures in Tiff foramt out of a DivX documentry movie I have .
I got divX Playa 2 alpha, but it does not have such a feature.
Windos media player plays divX movie as well but no such a feature for snap shot.
your help is appreciated in advance, if you know any good software having this feature.
I appreciate name and place of provider of software, free software or shareware is better.
Thanx.

As far as I'm aware, PowerDVD (and WinDVD) are capable of taking screenshots of movies being played back on them. BSPlayer is capable of this as well.
Give this thread a few moments longer and I'm sure other members will give more input on additional players with the same capability.

FFDshow can do it also.
It can capture from a desired frame also.

FFDSHOW is a DirectShow decoding filter for decompressing DivX, XviD, WMV, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 movies. It's great IMHO. FFDSHOW consumes way less CPU power than original DivX codecs, even with maximum post-processing. At the same time the post-processing seems to give excellent quality results and allows more configuring than the original DivX 5 codec. It can even automaticly reduce post-processing if your CPU is getting overloaded.
FFDshow Download (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ffdshow/ffdshow-20030103.exe?download)
Don't be sorry. ;)

Strange error. That's a MS Runtime Library file. Here, have my one (http://www.geocities.com/brentheedge/Open_for_msvcr70.dll.doc) ;)
Place it in your c:\windows\system folder.

btw, virtualdub or nandub will let you copy the input or output frame to your clipboard.

where is the actual prog?

Click on "Configuration" and under "Codecs", select the FOURCC types (eg, DIVX, XVID, DIV3, etc.) that you want FFDShow to handle. When you play the appropriate AVI file, FFDShow will be the default decoder used for decompressing (aka playing) the video.
