problem w/ playbacks of avi codecs

i've eliminated all the codecs and my player to start the process over again.... can somebody take me through a step by step process if they wanted to watch avi's,mpgs and mpegs etc video files please!

Try isntalling ffdshow and the AC3 audio codec and a software dvd player for mpeg2 playback.
