what is the best program to use to encode avi or divx to vcd or svcd's usuing windows xp professional...thanks

In my opinion, TMPGEnc is the best software for converting .AVI files to VCD and/or SVCD formats.

how do u get a movie in full screen most movies will go to full screen but some won't with tmpge..how do u fix that, also if u want to encode to widescreen how u do that...do u need a tool to fix the problem with the full screen problem?

For widescreen use the 16:9 settings for both "Video" and "System".

I don't understand your question regarding "Full screen". If you're referring to converting a letter-boxed (black margins top and bottom) from .AVI to .MPG, etc., it will continue to have the margins. If you mean something else, please provide more details.

Yeh, change the aspect ratio to 16:9 for widescreen. I don't understand by what you mean by "Full screen" Do you mean by hitting ALT+ENTER in WMP to maximize the picture and to make it full screen.

sometimes i try to encode to vcd and pick full screen to encode to sometimes it will encode to full screen and other times it will leave black spaces on top and bottom of the picture
