Hi there
On some avi files, the video plays back twice as fast as the audio. I have been researching all night but can't find an answer. I have updated directx and video card drivers. The playback problem happens irregardless of which player I am using.
Thanks, Bert

1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDub or NanDub
2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"
3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

1) Load the file into VirtualDub
2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy"
3) Select "Framerate" from the "Video" dropdown menu
4) Set to "Change so video and audio durations match
5) Save with a new filename
If, for some reason, the above does not resolve the problem, then substitute the following:
4) Set to "Change to" 29.97 "frames per second" (You enter 29.97)
Let us know of your success ;>}

are these downloaded files or did you rip them yourself? This 1/4 amount of your movies?

Hi.
I downloaded them, but this seems to be a recent problem.
I have installed the latest nimo codec pack as well.
Thanks, Bert

Uninstall NIMO
Use the FFDSHOW playback filter for divx/xvid playback, and BSPLAYER.

Hi. Nice player. I like it better than gdivx, but it still didn't work. The video is still playing twice as fast as the audio. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Bert

did you try FFDSHOW?
Try changing the fourcc code to div3 or dx50 or xvid.

Hi. I did uninstall nimo and install ffdshow. I changed the code using something called the fourcc code changer. The video still plays twice as fast. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Bert
