Cut parts from a movie

How do i cut parts out of a movie ripped from a dvd? I have a movie that is really close to fitting on one dvd so i want to cut out the the really long intro that gives all the names and stuff and the ending credits so that i loss as little quality as possible when i shrink it. thx

i don´t know how to cut out, but if it fits almost on a dvd-r i usually reencode(downsize) the last vob which should be the shortest and shouldn´t take too long to reencode.
i use rempeg to do this. but it is necessary to run ifoedit afterwards, read one of the guides.
