Burning error with nero” failed to finalize disc at once”

Hey there. Am ripping the DVD and then am splitting it to 2 DVDs using ifoedit. With ifoedit I use the default settings, after that I copy all the necessary files to the splitted DVDs directories and then “get the vts sectors” with ifoedit. Finally I burn the DVDs with Nero as a DVD video. When I start the burning process I take the message “DVD-video files reallocation failed“. If I continue at the end of the burning process I get ” cant write end of file disc at once” although DVD plays normally most of the times. I don’t know if these two messages are related but can anybody help me.

I am guessing you are making a VCD?

And it is already in MPEG 1/2 format

You know that if you have paid about 430$ for a DVDR you would prefer to burn DVDs for your films than VCDs of worse quality.

To my knowledge Nero cannot burn DVD's but I may be just all b/s

Use NERO's "ISO/UDF" mode (instead of "Video" mode)
Create two folders - "Audio_ts" and "Video_ts"
Drag and drop your files into the "Video_ts" folder
Burn

Me too.

I have made 4 coasters with always the same error message:
-could not perform end of disc-at once.

Please let me know how to solve this problem.

I solved it by dropping Nero. I used to love it, but when it can't cut it any longer, it's time to move on. Now I use DiscJuggler and it has performed very well on several burns.

I hope you folks tried to PLAY these burned DVDs before tossing them, assuming they were coasters. NERO occasionally (especially with budget media) falsely generates this specific error...

They couldn't be read in the burner, my dvd-rom or my standalone when Nero gave that message.

when creating a udf/iso data dvd..... which is exactly what
you do when following setarips advice make sure that
the multisession option is disabled and the DAO writing modus in nero is used!!!
