MP 9.0 versus divx player

When i play a divx movie (codec 5.x) in divx player the quality is good. When I do the same in MP 9.0 quality is bad. Have I done something wrong making the divx avi?

Tried other players, such as BSPlayer or WMP 6.4?

No I haven't.
I installed the WM player because I wanted to use the mini divx launcher DIVXLNCH.EXE, which seems to use windows media player.

And as for WMP 6.4 - I don't think I can use that. OS is windows 2000.

Run the command "mplayer2.exe" from the Run command and WMP 6.4 will be loaded.

I am unable to install WMP 6.4 on a w2k machine. The mpfull.exe setup says that the version is not supported on windows 2000

There is no need to install. It is already there in the first place. Run the command as I explained previously to load the player up.

It opens and will play the compressed divx encoded avi file.

But as with WMP 9, the picture quality is bad.

The BSplayer, as you mentioned, plays it well and so do the divx alpha player. But not WMP players.

But do you know any launchers I may use with the BSplayer or divx alpha player, since I can't use divxlnc launcher?
