COnvert Divx!!!

Hi

This question is a bit similar to a question asked previously in one of the threads. My question is: could you convert and put a full resolution divx movie (720X480) on a single regular cd-r disc so that it can be played from a standard vcd or dvd player? if so what do i have to convert it to and what do i need?
