Hi all,

My ripping process:

The film: NTSC, Interlaced, 29.97 fps , 4:3
Audio: 5.1 , 448kbps , delay -66 ms

I used GordianKnot for processing, chose deinterlace, compressed with XviD

And now we get to the hard part:
I tried muxing the ac3 audio with many interleaving options (preload + interleave ) but the result is the same: in playback, the sound changes ( from normal to quieter than back to normal ).
Is this called an audio dropout ?

What is this phenomenon , what causes it ? As I read in many threads, the main result for bad interleaving is desynchronization.

btw, the dvd is : Guns n Roses, show from Tokio, the dvd itself is produced in Brasil

I appreciate your help!

Peace

changing loudness is NOT a mater of interleaving.

your ac3 file is the reason.

try to convert this file to mp3 or ogg vorbis and NORMALIZE it.

I have checked my ac3 file seperately, and it sounds fine. Only after the muxing I get the loudness change effect.

Anyway, I'll try normalizing, and I'll update you.

Thanks

I converted my ac3 to 5.1 ogg using headac3ache and muxed it with oggmux.

Now I get some other effect: When playing the ogm with BSplayer I get sound + video scratches/lags and every 2-3 secs.

With WMP 6.4 the ogm plays fine.

1. What can be the problem? Using latest ogg DS filter .
Maybe the xvid codec causes this ?

2. Is there a way normalizing the original ac3 without converting it to ogg ?

UPDATE!

The muxing caused the problem, seems Nandub is not so good with muxing avi and ac3.

I've used AviMux with its default interleaving settings and now it sounds great!
