Capture format

Which format would be best to capture directly from TV with?

AVI at with a MPEG-2 format

Well if you had a huge hard drive, then I suggest you to select uncompressed lossless avi format. I prefer using Intel Indeo codec. Most of the internet user prefer DivX codec for space consideration.

Most of my capture has been from videotape and my capture size is 352x480. Should i use the same for the direct sat-tv capture?

Whatever looks the best to you, really. Like alcskid said though I would use a lossless codec like Indeo or HuffYUV

hey thanks for posting that capture guide i am leaving for iraq tomorrow but i will have my trusty lap top and i plan on capturing as must iraqi tv as i can get on my signal booster
