I've got an XVID movie in which the audio refuses to play.
Gspot and avicodec both indicate that I should be able to play it, but it doesn't (details : see file below).
What could be wrong (and yes, my other video files do produce sound... so it's nothing to do with my soundcard ;)
thanks

though yo useem to have an mp3 decoder installed, maybe re-installing could help.
give the radium release a try.

how do you mean radium release ?
and ... I assume you mean there is an issue with my MP3 decoder... I 've got tons of mp3's : they never give problems ? Or did I get you wrong ?
thnx

you got me right
either install or re-install an mp3 codec again or test the file on a different machine.

In order to provide a little more information regarding audio frames, etc. :
1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDub or NanDub
2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"
3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

I think virtualdub is a good idea
If I'm interpreting right... there is no decent audio added (see attachment below). Am I right ?

Your audiostream contains -0- bytes - In other words, the file contains NO audio...

and now ... next step : is it possible to get the audio of a movie somewhere, or should I redownload it ?
