i have a couple movies that are xvids but my mp4 player doesn't support xvids but it does support divx. so is there a way to convert my xvid to a divx?

maybe changing the 4cc code to dx50 will help?

xvid and divx5 are very similar.

thus your player *might* accept xvid if you change the header information of this xvid avi in order to pretend it is not xvid but divx5.

this tool will let you change the header information.

change the xvid header to DX50 or DIV5 and try if your player will accept the input.
