AS a newbie member of this site I would like to share my way of copying dvd to vcd. I have this down to a fine art (ask my kids ,theve got the biggest vcd collection around here!) anyway here goes.... I connect my stand alone dvd player from a scart / composite adapter into the composite adapter of my studiopctv pci card at the rear of my PC. I then click on win vcr to capture the image in mpeg 1 (high quality) (you can get 74mins per cd-r blank) (to save me having to use a splitter, when approx 70mins of recording is done I pause the DVD and save the first Mpeg then start capturing again for the second part / cd-r. When the mpegs are finished (note that this is all done in real time, eg: 96 mins film is 96 mins recording) I use Ulead DVD factory ( get the trial version and a crack from cracks.am) to make some chapters and burn it through Ulead dvd factory VCD settings at a speed no more than 4 speed...result ..a VCD with chapters that plays on my Mustek 300 DVD player and the kids love it

You can also capture films off TV (moviemax premier BBC1) etc straight into mpeg1 via the studiopctv card and win vcr then use dvd factory to chapter and burn ( over xmas we had flubber, toy story, rush hour, the truman show and loads more) quality is just like vhs or a tadge better

Long live Blockbusters that what I say
