DVD to DIVX nOOb

I kno you have all herd this befor, Sorry!:smashead: but I am new to baking up DVD's what are the tools I need to make a nice back up of a DVD on to a CD-R? How long will this process take?

If you could please help me out that would be great. Once again, I am sorry you must of heard this a million times. Thanks Alot.

The ones I like are Smartripper, DVD2AVI, Besweet and VitrualDubMod.
