Hi everybody,
I have Divx 3.11a, divx 4.12, Divx 5.0.5, I'm using windows media
player and everytime I play a divx 3.11a encoded file it always (in
all of my movies) playing with the Divx 5.0.5 codec :smashead:
I think that in the past it wasn't like that, perhaps the problem is
with the newer Divx 5.0.5 codec?
How can I make the right codec to play my movies ?

Install the Tsunami-patched DivX 3.11 codec (available from Tsunami codec pack).
Alternatively, you can use FFDShow to decode DivX 3.11 contents. I personally find FDShow to do a better job at this than even the native decoder of DivX 3.11.

Is that patch makes him to be the defualt?

Installing the patched codec will prevent DivX 5.x codec from automatically playing DivX 3.11 contents. DivX 5 contents will still be handled by the DivX 5 codec (or whichever else you have chosen to use).

Is there a chance to find the patch alone witout instelling it from Tsunami ? what do I need to find exactly?

I had the stand-alone codec before, but I have unfortunately deleted it. You can still get it by downloading and installing the Tsunami codec pack.
Alternatively, as I previously suggested, use FFDShow. I find its decoding quality to be better than DivX 3.11 native decoder.

in some movies the picture got blocki and greeni that solved only in installing the stand alone Xvid codec.

Are you sure you were using a recent version of FFDShow? I have not seen any such problems with the Alpha versions, which perform very well and satisfactorily IMHO.

No.
Just install the Tsunami codec pack. It will not ruin your system as long as you carefully select the components to be installed.

Make sure you have downloaded a reasonably updated version of Tsunami. Check out UncasMS's site (http://www.atlandide.net/~uncasms/) for the Tsunami codec pack and other tools.

Have you made sure that you have uninstalled all the codecs (especially your pre-existing DivX 3.11 codec) prior to installing the Tsunami pack?

but I got stuck with unnecessary Tsunami's files in my system (even that I choose only to install Divx 5 and Low\Fast) , tha't OK I'll keep it like this.
Hope that some day this patch will be released alone.
Thanks.
