A few questions?
Does the avi have out of sync problems?
Did you install the VAFI-plugins also (with TMPGEnc)
Which version of TMPGEnc do you use
Waht are the properties of the audio?

No the avi is perfect no out of sync problems, no I didn't install the plug ins. I use version 2.50.32.120. And I don't know what you mean, how do I check the properties of the audio?

On the same site where you can download TMPGEnc from (btw you have the latest version, so that shouldn't give you any problems) There is also the VAFI plugin for TMPGEnc
You really have to install the plugin also
Like the explanation says:
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After downloading, unzip to same folder as TMPGEnc.exe is stored, then run "TMPGEncVFP_Install.bat"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can check the properties of the audio by rightclicking the AVI-file select ---> properties
Then choose the details tab
On it you will find audio.......
and video
Try it again with the plugin installed first (no need to convert the whole avi, just convert 5 minutes or so) and look if the problem is still there

Okay I got the plug in and I unzipped it to the folder where the program is, but when I open the install thing it brings up a black screen and goes off real fast. Did I do it right? What is it that I need to find out from the properties?

Yes you installed it right :)
About the properties; the question is just out of curiosity, because if it doesn't work now (which means still out of sync) my next suggestion would be to extract the sound of the movie into an uncompressed PCM wav-file and then load this seperately in TMPGEnc
And sometimes you may have troubles extracting the sound depending on the properties .........................That's why.
But since you HAVE sound (only out of sync); i can safely assume the sound isn't something special
But first things first .................... first you try to encode it again with this time the filter installed
Cross fingers :P

okay i did it and it still was out of sync.... the properties are...
Audio
Duration 1:55:05
Bit rate 192kbps
audio format mpeg layer 3
Video
Frame rate 25 frames/second
data rate 102kbps
video sample size 24 bit
video compression divx code
The only thing I can think of that may be the problem, is at the begining when it has the fox logo the sound stops for about 8 seconds but the video keeps going but it catches up on the avi but the mpeg doesnt ever catch up, when it stops it doesnt have a pause it automaticly goes to the next audio part while the avi waits.... did i say that right?
