DVD burner error message

EzQuest DVD firewire burner keeps giving following error message to DVD studio pro:
recording device reported illegal request: Cannot write medium - incompatible
Formatting failed (Error #12293)


This happens at all different ponts of similar burns. Anybody get this ? Using
Sony DVD-R 's.

If burning at 2X, try 1X...

(Of course you're certain that you're not using DVD+R media)

If lets say recordnow max supports your particular drive, after you'ved ripped the files, you could always put them through dvd shrink if you have it, then burn from there.
