Ok I got an Xvid movie yesterday and I have tried playing it in both DivX Player and WMP. In DivX player it gives me an Audio Data: Tag 80 error and says that I can continue but I will have no sound. In WMP when I try to open to it prompts me to download "Fraunhofer IIS Layer-3 Codec" which I click yes. When it starts to play there is once again no sound

At this point I was thinking it was audio codecs that were messed but I checked it on Gspot and my audio codecs are fine. For audio codecs it says "0x0050(MPEG) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 2" codec is installed.

Under Video codec it says I have DivX 4 and then under the more button it lists 4 codecs including Xvid

ok guys please help me out :) thanks

Both the "Tag 80" (decimal) and "00x50" (hexadecimal) are indicative of MPEG1-Layer2 audio - which is typically used ONLY with MPEG1/VCD/MPEG2/SVCD files. This audio codec is "built-in" to Windows.

You probably have obtained either a fake file or a corrupted file...

"ok thanks for your help man"

In the future, you should post P2P-related questions in the P2P sub-forum here...
