translating captions

I know this is a slight possibility, but does anybody know if there's a way to get english captions for a movie that's in portuguese? Is there a program that can do this? I got the movie City of God but it's all in Portuguese and I can't understand. I wish there was a way I could get an english translation.

Hey I have a similar problem with this same movie. Ripped the DVD WITH subtitles, except any subs I try to put in there don't come up on the final file. So I have the subtitles file, in 4 languages or so, but can't seem to mux the subs right. I usually do well with muxing subs, so there must be something wrong with the file? Is there a way to make a .srt with it and mux that?

Any help would be great, thanks.
