Audio Out of Sync

I have a video that has audio completely out of sync. I have read the tutorial here, but it didn't help me. I have tried many tools out there, and it still doesn't help me. I really need help.

Some more information might be beneficial.

1) Did you create the file?

2) What format is the file?

3) What video codec was used?

4) What audio codec was used?

5) In what way is the audio out of synchronization with the video? Is the difference constant, or does it change as the movie plays?

4) MPEG Layer-3

5) Out of sync throughout the video

1) Load the video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

Hi folks.

This might help...

Open VirtualDub, set Video->Direct Stream Copy. Then set Audio->Full Processing mode. Afterwards go to Audio->Compression and set the appropriate compression (i.e. MP3 etc). Once you have done that save the AVI file. The problem could be due to MP3 VBR compression if that is the case.

A) If the difference between audio and video is constant throughout the video:

Load the file into NanDub.
Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy".
From the "Audio" dropdown menu, select "Interleaving"
Under "Audio skew correction", set an appropriate number of milleseconds (positive or negative) in the box labelled "Delay audio track by"
Save with a new filename

B) If the difference increases as the movie plays:

From under the "Video" dropdown menu, select framerate - and select "Change so video and audio durations match"
