Crappy quality in Action Scene
Am using FlasKMPEG 0.78.39 (Beta) to encode VOB to XviD

XviD Config Setup:
Video Bitrate: 846 kBit/s
Audio Bitrate (mp3): 128 kBit/s
and just standard :P

Hardware:
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4800 SE (128 MB)
AMD Athlon XP, 1800 MHz (6.75 x 267) 2200+
TwinMOS PC2700 DDR-DIMM 512MB CL2.5
Minne 184-P (for DDR-PC333MHz
Western Digital Caviar 120GB IDE 7200RPM

what resolution are you using? because if you use a low resolution, like the output resolution for a vcd, the movie will look fine in scenes where there are no much movement, but in action scenes, where there is a lot of it, it will look like that...

Use a resolution of 640x352 instead. The picture will not look any different in sharpness and the video will be more bit-efficient as well. Also, what min/max quantisizers did you set?

wrong!

taking into account that the bitrate was some 846kbps REDUCING the resolution will DECREASE those effects, since MORE bitrate will be allocated per macroblock.

wiak,

"how do i set min/max quantisizers?"

Use a Min. Quant of 2 and Max Quant. of anywhere from 16 to 31. This applies to both I- and P-frames.

"what must i change in XviD Options?"

What are your settings in the first place anyway? There is no point changing them if they already are good enough.
