High Quality MPEG From VOB

i use Smart Ripper to create VOB Files from my DVD. I would like to convert them to MPEG-2 so i can edit them on a AVID system. When I convert them I want to maintain the same DVD Quality. What software do you use to convert VOB to MPEG-2 and still maintain the DVD Quality. I also use Adobe Premeir. Thanks - jay

A .VOB IS an MPEG2 file (MPEG2 video with .AC3 audio). If your "AVID system" can handle .AC3 audio, you should be set. If the software isn't as intelligent as it should be, you may have to perform the "Herculean" task of changing the extender to ".MPG" from ".VOB" ;>}
