ac3 errors

I was trying To convert avi into mpeg for making a vcd
But the ac3 file in the avi file is erroneous, so tmpengc can't conver it. As a result, i tried to fix it using ac3fix program. It ended at Checking frame 7630: ERROR: fread seekSync failed
ERROR: seekSync failed at position 710351255, exiting. What should i do? is there a more powerful program?

Download the .AC3-modified version of VirtualDub from:

http://www.dvd-digest.net/downloads/files/virtualdub/VirtualDub_AC3.zip

(I am aware that there is a newly posted VirtualDub v.1.4.8-AC3 at the same site - but since I've not used it, I won't recommend it to you)


1) Use it to extract the audio as a .WAV file

2) Then save the .AVI with NO sound

3) Then load the silent .AVI and the .WAV file into TMPGEnc

If the audio still gets rejected, you'll now be able to load the .WAV file into a program such as GoldWave or Cool Edit and possibly determine where the problem is - and correct or remove it.
