ive heard alot of people say the only dvd writer to get is the pioneer 105 or 106 , but also ive always rated plextor as one of the leading company's in cd writing and was wondering if there latest dvd writer the px-708a is up to the standard , from what ive read , its functions are pretty similar if not better than the pioneer , so was looking for opinions from people in the 'know' about it :)

I did a lot of research on this and I decided to go with the pioneer 106. I have seen great praises about this drive and also the fact that its multiformat makes it even better.
I got this drive for 159$ shipped. Bare Drive though which is about 100$ cheaper then the plextor according to pricewatch.com.
Though the plextor is an 8x drive on +r media and 4x on -r an +rw and 2x on -rw is it worth the extra hunderd dollars?
