I bought a pioneer 105 and plugged it in.
It autoplays cds etc, I installed the bundled nero using the drive!

It wont recognise blank dvd's when i insert them (memorex dvd+r) or blank cd's either :( (havent tried dvd movies yet as i dont have any)

what might i have done wrong? presumably i dont need drivers with the device?!

is there compatability issues with dvd+r and -r? btw what is the difference?

any suggestions gratefully recieved

TIA

Jonny

Well the drive is a -r/-rw drive so yeah it won't reconize +r/+rw media. Try putting a -r disc in there and it should work. If not then am not sure what is wrong and hopefully someone else on here will know and help. As for not reconizing a cdr that I don't know. Go out to local video store and rent a dvd and test it that way.

make sure all your latest aspi drivers are installed. This might help a little. It also could be Nero. I had the bundled version and then i installed a normal version and bingo everything was fine.
Try installing 5.5.10 or later as anything before that wont read the pioneer 105 properly. Hope this helps!
