I have not bought a DVD recorder yet, but what I am really asking is if DVD recorders come with software that will duplicate DVDs of 4.7G or less. Will such software work with retail movies (if one were to be small enough)? If so, then would it be safe to assume that if a dual layer recorder were ever developed, that one could replicate just about any DVD? Responses are much appreciated.

okay 4.7 gigs is 2 hours of high quality video movies are never 2 hours long but the best method is to use a program called smartripper, rip it to your hard drive edit the ifo files and burn that sucker right back to the dvd-r
