Size of MPEG-2

I am trying to place an MPEG-2 file on a CD-R, only problem is it claims to have come in two parts cd 1 and cd 2, and they are both 720 Mb large. how can i get these small enough to place on the CD-R's:confused:

BY burning them on a disc.

Up to 800mb of mpeg video can fit on an 80min cd-r.

just remember of course, to burn as SVCD not DATA. :)
