When transfering normal VHS tapes, could the quality of the capture be better on a Super-VHS recorder out of the S-Video connection, or has a Super-VHS recorder only a S-Video input connection ?
I maybe want to buy a Super VHS recorder, because they're getting cheaper... and you also record the teletext info,
and the better quality of the (future) tv recordings...

using a S-video connection does really improve the capture of
a video, since the information signal for brightness and contrast
is transmitted seperately.....
that means the "noise and blur" of the video is reduced significantly......
of course your capture device must have a s-video in!!!

most SVHS-VCRs do have both S-Video in and out... at least my one has ... the panasonic NV-FS 90 it is well sure older than
13 or 14 years by now and still performing good....
I am pretty confident that a modern SVHS is also equipped with that....
