No audio

I am a nooby here so please don't be too harsh on me!

I am having trouble playing back sound on an xvid. I downloaded the AC3 codec but still no sound. I used Gspot to see if I could figure it out and it said I had all the codecs but when I triend to render I got a partial failure.

As I said, the video is fine but there is no audio whatsoever. Any help?

1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

Okay, here's what I got

The audio "tag 2000" is indicative of an .AC3 audiostream. I'd suggest that you download and install a different .AC3 filter/codec than you presently have (Uninstall the one you have). Then reboot...
