lol - i guessed as much. Can i ask you why you needed to downgrade? Where you using the RPC 1 version of 1.33? I have had great results with it so far (over 400 back-ups)

What media are you using? Also, what method are you using to back up the DVD Video?

using princo media
I would hazard a guess that this could be the main source of your problems. Myself and nearly every other DVD-R user have experienced problems with Princo at one time or another. They do not have the same quality control in their factories as companies like Ritek have. Try a 'Genuine' Ritek Traxdata or Clone Disc and see if the problem still occurs.

think i might of found the problem. Burnt from burner to hard drive them out again and no problems. Then used the dvd-rom drive to burn image to hard drive and then back to another blank media and BANG jumpy stuff going on. Could be the dvd-rom drive laser out of alignment or something like that. What you think Chris?

It could be be out of alignment, though the more likely cause would be it is dusty or dirty. Either way, its usually fixable. I would recommend getting one of the fibre cleaning disc that are for DVD/CD drives. They will have hairs on the cleaning disc that should gently brush away any dirt or dust. They are usually around $10 - £10 and can be quite effective. You can also get ones that use a cleaning foam, though i dont think they are as good. Check that first before the other possibility.
