Hi, I'm new here!!:P
My question:
what is the best program for divx encoding?
I use xmpeg 4.5 or mpeg2avi (iker)... but they don't satisfy me...
I want very good quality divx;) :bglaugh2:

best is dr. divx !! as it is not free, consider buying it if u want best hassle-free quality!!

DVX (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dvx/) is the best, from what ive tested, it always has the latest support for all codecs and the latest encoding software. The only drawback is you have to download Microsoft's .NET Framework (23MB)
but if you can get over this, its a very powerful tool.
EDIT: GordianKnot is a good beginner program. But the file sizes never come out accurate. DVX is dead on everytime so far with me.

Why pay for something that is easily matched by FREE alternatives?

I strongly suggest you give GordianKnot and/or DVX a try. These tools are free, and from what I have read on the forum, are more trouble-free than their paid/commercial counterpart.
