1) Load the original XviD-compressed .AVI video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

According to Sonic's homepage for this software, the only file formats it can properly process are as follows:

"File Support

MPEG-1, MPEG-2, AVI, WMV video import
QuickTime video import
Import WAV, WMA, MPA, AIF and MP3 audio files
Built-in real-time transcoding to DVD format (MPEG-2)
4:3 video aspect ratio support
Import/modify DVD+RW discs recorded on a set-top recorder"

Your XviD-compressed .AVI contains an .AC3 audiostream - not supported by MyDVD. How did you process/convert this before inputting to MyDVD?

I let Sonic do the transcoding.
Previously, I have done the same with other Xvid files so I assumed that this particular one was different somehow.
Unfortunately, I no longer have one to compare it using Gspot.

Further to my last post, I see from Gspot that I need a AC3 Codec instaslled.
What is the name of the codec and could you tell me where I would get it.
All help GREATLY appreciated.

I have the AC3 codec now and have burned the DVD with MyDvd.
It see now that this was what was causing the problem

Many thanks for your time.
