Nedd help with VVD standalone playback

i have a JVC -511 dvd player. It is suppose to play dvd/vcd/svd. However after creating a vcd and trying many brands of cd-r/rw's i had no luck. I found a post on the internet at vcdhelp under my player specifications by two users saying that memorex cd-rw platinum will work. Can anyone confirm this? are there any other known brands that will play also? such as a regular memorex cd-rw. please help out

Why would you want yet another poster to tell you the same thing as two other users? Just simply buy a few and try it out?

because they are expensive and i was looking for a list of other brands as well as confirmation
