Screen is gray, just audio, when i play .avi

the problem occured with Windows Media Player and BSPlayer after i've installed DivX5.1 Bundle. until then all .avi files worked well. now BSPlayer and WMP show gray screen with audio only. Only soft able to play .avi is DivX Player. But it is not so comfortable to use like BSP...
what is the problem??????

Reset the decoder's settings to default values. That usually does the trick (for me anyway).

nope.. doesn't work :( something else must be wrong. also installed codec pacs from K-Lite. some time ago it helped me to view videos from the web (a la online jukeboxes). now reseting to defaults and installing additional stuff didn't help. any ideas?

Try this other suggestion: Check your video overlay settings and reset it to default. Restart, if necessary.
