AC3 stutter in Xvid [Archive] - Digital Video Forums

This is my system: CPU - AMD Athlon 1.2GHz, RAM - 384MB, Motherboard - A7V, Soundcard - Audigy Player, Speakersystem - Creative Inspire 5500
Everytime I play a Xvid movie with an AC3, the sound now and then stutters. There's no correlation to "heavy"-scenes or fast panning and so on. It's very subtle but it's there and sometimes very distracting. Any ideas what it could be?

I had the same problem with audigy. After reinstalling codecs, and ultimately even reformatting I still ended up with the same problem. After spending days "googling" on the net I finally found out that I wasn't the only one and that some people had good results with using the odio-codec instead of the AC3-codec.

It worked for me, so you might give it a try too.

Anyone else want to share their thoughts on this???
