When I open a movie with Divx. It said "The file contains unknown data.

Video data: FOURCC code "0""

How can I fix it. Help please.

----

But then the thread got locked because of P2P issues :smashead:

I have not used p2p I have used WinTV USB to record an .avi of a video played on my video recorder.

I get the same message  Everywhere I go the say fake file thinking I downloaded it. It is not fake because I created it!

I think it is uncompressed video data? because 15 seconds is about 100 Meg :(

Any ideas what I should do?

thanks, Rich :)

p.s.

When I try to use SoftPVR a program with WinTV to record I get this message:

Stream DShow Error

HCWSlipWriter
Class not registered (0x80040154)

If someone knows how to solve this or what this message is all about, PLEASE PLEASE let me know :)

1) Load the original video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

Hi setarip,

thankyou for your reply :)

Unfortunately my system crashes when I try and load the file into Virtualdub, the pointier turns to a clicking clock and I can't do anything

I think this is because the .avi file is saved as uncompressed data, and too large to open.

Therefore I think the solution is to solve the 'Stream DShow Error' which appears when I try to record the video in .mpeg format.

Please, do you or anyone else have any ideas about this error message:

Stream DShow Error

HCWSlipWriter
Class not registered (0x80040154)

Thanks again, Rich :)
